Party like its 2006…almost…

It wasn’t a big NYE party bit it was fun. The Ceberry Lounge hosted the intimate event with close friends and a little champagne. This was our 3^rd New Years together as a couple…crazy to think that it had already been that long. 2005 meant a lot to me. You supported me so much with my back surgery, I don’t think you’ll ever know how much that truly meant to me. 2006, the year of the Starfish would hold a lot of good memories.

Smores Galore

I wouldn’t have thought that you were a big camper but you sure do it well. Look how cute you are in these pictures. There’s also another fun memory that I won’t put on this blog for fear that it might ruin any political aspirations you might have. Just kidding, plenty of people have won elections with worse.

Good ol Fashion Funky Town Wedding

I remember the band being REALLY awesome. I also remember you dancing like you were auditioning for ‘Dancing with the Stars’. You were out of control in a good way. I also remember that after-party at the bar where you and Nada got to know each other a little better. That was sweet.

Chadleigh sporting her Texas and LiveStrong support was the best part of the celebration. She’s really great about getting into supporting local heros.

Dust Bowl 2005!

Oh boy, this one gave my mixed feelings. Best live performance I’ve ever seen, Coldplay, combined with the worst dust cloud I’ve ever inhaled into my nostrils. I picked buggers out for two weeks. All in all, it’s still my favorite weekend in Austin. I love lounging around with you and listening to bands we’ve never even heard of to explore our musical horizons. Thank you for being open to experiencing new things, it’s just one of the many things that makes me love you more each time you say “heck yes, let’s try that”

Labor Day Kissing Fund Raiser

You learn a lot about people when trying to raise money for hurricane victims by having them bid on a kiss from people on the auction block. You also learn a lot about people when answering flip cup questions…remember our answer? That was really funny!

Best Realtor EVER!

Ok, so maybe not. We did find a great place to live and call our own. I remember you being pretty excited and saw you visualizing what kind of changes you’d eventually make when you moved in. By the way, I’ve loved every change you’ve requested (except for maybe the leaf, you know how I feel about the leaf).

Jacque and Marvin get hitched

It had everything a wedding should have. Great music, good friends, grooving tunes and yummy food. Oh yeah, and Jacque’s mom sneaking in a bottle of Patron and kicking the party up a notch. You looked really hot at this wedding (not that you don’t always look really hot).

Belgium visits Austin

Marc and Sabine come spend a few days of their US vacation with us in Austin. We try to do all the sightseeing things that any tourist would love to do…see millions of bats! We also managed to feed them plenty thanks to our friends at the San Francisco Bakery and Hula Hut they were able to taste some of our favorite foods and drinks. We also managed to find the ‘Sabine’ river in the state capitol that made Sabine’s day which was fun.

Are you for Scuba?

The drift dive! Are you all healed up from that yet? Man, I remember that happening in slow motion…bonk! This Mexican vacation was full of free liquor and adventure. We went scuba diving for the first time with Jennifer and Ben and vowed to try and include it into every future trip that we could. On the way to exploring the Riviera Maya ruins we had lunch at in my opinion one of the most relaxing places on earth. I don’t remember if the food was good or not but the beer was cold and the breeze when we napped in the hammocks was just right. We danced the nights away and took some photo opps on the beach. We worked on our tans and wished we had the jello shots on the way back that we did on the way to Mexico. Soon enough we’ll go back there and explore more of what the Yucatan has to offer!

Bringing us soup on a cold, cold night

The chicken flu couldn’t escape us, even with your kind offering of soup and warmth. It was a miserable night made better by your quick visit (and the space heater that was in our giant tent). I’m not sure I’ll ever crave Chick-fil-a the same.

Another Christmas Exchange

I don’t remember what you got in this exchange but I think it was something crazy from the Bates. Wait, I think it was some perfume. Is that right? I remember Nada being pissed off that she ended up with a really crappy gift…Chadleigh was all decked out in her pink fashions which you adorned her with. At this stage she hadn’t tried to chew it off herself just yet.

One of many weekends spent letting Chadleigh sniff random dogs and not catch the ball in her mouth. Our lil pup is so cute but not so coordinated…I think I know where she gets that from J

Don’t even try to stop him

Just another trip across the country. We crammed into the Lincoln and took off bound for the city of angels. Sure you didn’t like it but it really was funny trying to inflate the bed in the back while you were driving. We’re still sorry that you got all riled up about it. While I think that was the only time I wore my ‘LA’ shirt out, that New Years Eve celebration was fun. We can ignore the other folks who got sick and had to leave early, poor guys. The next morning was a bit rough but the bloody maries and mimosas made up for having to wake up so early for the VIP parade party. Andy breaking Cara’s toilet was pretty entertaining but not as much as the best football game I’ve ever witness in person. Getting home, was quite the adventure topped off by our stop at In-and-Out burger and the BOOT. It’s good to know we travel so well together even with friends.
